Assessment and permitted materials
There will be a written exam on 14 December 2023, 12–2pm. If necessary, there will be a second date for the exam (to be announced towards the end of the semester).The exam consists of 5 short questions (5 points each) and one essay (15 points).You need to register for the exam via u:space.

You can reach a max. of 40 points at the exam. Positive grades from 21 points.

In this lecture we discuss various disasters in the history of modern South Asia, from the 19th century to the present. We address both the natural and human causes of these events and discuss the impact they had on the people and the economy of South Asia. Also, we deal with the responses to such disasters, by households, communities and the government.
