Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students learn different methods practiced in museum education and outreach. Petra Fuchs-Jebinger director of the Weltmuseum Vienna education and outreach program will provide insight in particular into the decolonial approaches practised in the Weltmuseum. In the exhibition room of African objects, the students will develop methods in personal and impersonal education in small groups, which means they will design a guided tour or a workshop and will develop digital content.
The seminar is planned to be held in German.

Assessment and permitted materials

1. Reading of the proposed literature and active participation in discussion and feedback rounds (25%)
2. Developing a plan of a thematic workshop or a guided tour (25%)
3. Developing of thematic digital audio or video content (25%)
4. Presentation and handing on of the results prepared in 2. and 4.
The assessment is only possible if all 4 points are fulfilled.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Konstante Teilnahme, Mitarbeit und Diskussionsbereitschaft. Präsentation der Fortschrittsberichte sowie Abgabe der erstellten Inhalte.

Examination topics

Erfüllung der erforderlichen Teilleistungen.
