In diesem Kurs werden wir das Konzept des Afropolitanismus in seiner Theorie und Praxis durch die Lektüre von Beispielen afropolitanischer Romane analysieren. Die Lektüre der fiktionalen Werke wird von einigen repräsentativen Lektüren und Filmen über den Afropolitanismus sowie von Interviewtexten mit afropolitanischen Schriftstellern begleitet.Ziele:
Am Ende dieser Vorlesung sollten die Studierenden in der Lage sein:
• die afropolitanischen Merkmale zeitgenössischer afrikanischer Diaspora Texte zu erkennen
• die Bedeutung des Afropolitanismus für die afrikanische und diasporische Selbstidentität des 21. Jahrhunderts zu verstehen
• die Widersprüche und Debatten, die das Konzept umgeben, zu verstehen
• die Verwendung des Begriffs "Afropolitan" als Slogan und Markenzeichen in afrikanischen und diasporischen Geschäftspraktiken zu begreifen.
