Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Fulfulde is widely spoken in 18 countries in West Africa and counts as a national language in six countries - Senegal, Mali, Gambia, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
The importance of the Fulfulde in each country, its dialects, and the structure of the language will be the content of the winter semester.
The objective is to know the phonology of Fulfulde and to understand the structure of verbs and nouns.
Students will also become familiar with simple conversations.

Assessment and permitted materials

Essential is the participation in and attendance at the teaching units, as well as the performance at oral and written exercises.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation during the semester and a final exam at the end of the semester.

Examination topics

Semester material: Basic knowledge and spread of the Fulfulde, dialect variants and the structure of verbs.
