Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
- 15% Participation and oral presentation (if the course is conducted digitally, working utensils such as camera and microphone are required).
- 25% oral presentation including handout (500 words). The handout must be uploaded to Moodle at least one week before the start of the presentation.
- 55% seminar paper of approx. 3000-3500 words including cover sheet and outline.

A special focus is placed on the following questions: Why is there a creation? The possibility of revelation? The relationship between God and human. How Islamic theology asks about unity (Arab. Tawhid). What is the relationship between reason and faith? etc.Objectives:
- You will be able to reproduce the essential kalam discourse.
- You will be able to take a position on the content of discursive theology itself.
- You will be able to recognize different approaches to questions of faith and to classify them according to the schools of faith.Method:
Lecture, presentation, discussion and interpretation.
The course will take place in presence. You will be informed in case of a possible change. In case of a change to digital teaching, a working camera and microphone is necessary for participation.
