Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the various forms and manifestations of Alevi religious rituals in everyday life. It examines how believers live their religion, which rituals and traditions are important to them and how these are interpreted in a contemporary context. The lecture examines Alevi religious practices on the basis of empirical studies and everyday practices with regard to the concept of lived religion.
Aims of the lecture
- To explore the concept of lived religion in the context of the Alevi faith and social life.
- To provide a comprehensive perspective on the fundamental beliefs and practices of Alevism.
- To analyse the transfer of Alevi rituals, moral rules and social practices into everyday life.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Regular attendance,
- Written examination on selected questions from the lecture.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Für eine positive Benotung müssen mindestens 50% der Punkte erreicht werden
50% und weniger = nicht genügend (5)
51-62% = genügend (4)
63-75% = befriedigend (3)
76-88% = gut (2)
89%+ = sehr gut (1)

Examination topics

All content covered in the course, in particular the subject-specific and didactic content and considerations, will be presented in the lecture. An overview of the course and the relevant texts will be made available on Moodle at the beginning of the semester.
