Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:

Getting to know the framework of Islamic religious education
Getting to know basic questions of didactics of religion
Reflection of contents of religious education from the perspective of a subject-oriented didactics of religion
Getting to know social settings and methods for religious education

Contents:

Didactics of Religion as Science
Basic understanding of religious learning processes
Conditions and challenges of religious learning:
- Contexts of religious learning, such as pluralization and individualization
- Religious education as a specific place of religious education
- Subjects of religious learning, religious development
Places, questions and examples of interreligious teaching and learning processes
Religious-didactic principles (correlation, elementarization, competence orientation, use of methods and media according to specific criteria)

Methods of the course:

This is a lecture. This means that central contents will be presented by the lecturer, but at the same time the interactive conversation with the participants of the course will be actively sought, in order to include their concrete experiences, assumptions and questions and make them to subjects of the course as well.

Changes due to COVID-19:

As already announced on Moodle, the course will take place in the form of online teaching. You will find all course content in the form of concise basic literature and commented Powerpoint presentations on the learning platform. For all requests please use the established forum.

On the following dates the possibility of written digital exams will be offered (Take Home Exam):
22 June 2020, 9.00 - 10.00
30 June 2020, 14.00 - 15.00
6 July 2020, 16.00 - 17.00
14 September 2020, 16.00 - 17.00

The exams will be held via the Moodle platform, where the assignments will be published at the appropriate time, to be worked on at home and then uploaded again.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge of the central contents of the lecture, adequate answers to competence-oriented (= application-oriented) questions in order to document the ability to apply the acquired knowledge.
At least 50 % of the expected performance leads to a positive assessment.

Examination topics

Contents of the lecture - will be successively made available on the Moodle platform including supplementary literature.
