Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Theoretical content will be practiced in this course via texts, dialogues, role playing, listening comprehensions, etc. Students should have reached the elementary level to be able to read, speak and understand actively. They also should be able to implement the spoken language in written language.
Assessment and permitted materials
In case the student chooses to drop the course before the end of the first session and deregisters from the course, a grading will not be performed. Absence from the first class (session) automatically leads to deregistration.
Active participation during the class sessions by participating in the exercised dialogues and discussion regarding the assigned homework will be part of the grading basis.
Attendance, assignments, homework, active participation during class session, two midterm exams (early in November, early in December) and one final exam (in late January).
Exams will be held in person. No aids are permitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To achieve a positive passing grade, you must not be absent without valid excuse for more than 3 times. Exceptions to the mandatory attendance are to be obtained through a medical certificate, in special cases an agreement with the lecturer is to be established.
In order to obtain a positive passing grade in this lecture, doing the given homework (min. 90%) as well as passing the exams are prerequisites. Exams are passed with a minimum of 60% of the maximal achievable points.
