Basic introduction to society and sociology in Japan, touching upon (1) society and community; (2) demographic change; (3) class and stratification; (4) family and kinship; (5) gender relations; (6) childhood and youth; (7) school and education; (8) work and employment; (9) age and aging; (10) minorities; (11) migration; (12) urban and rural life; (13) neighborhood and civil society; (14) love, partnership and sexuality; (15) leisure and popular culture
