Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will focus on the writing of correct Chinese sentences and paragraphies with basic structures. You will be able to use the Chinese words that you learned to form basic sentences,eventually to write short texts.
You will learn new words (mainly nouns and adjectives), learn how to use the punctuations and to learn the different forms/styles of Chinese writing.

Assessment and permitted materials

On Moodle-Platform you will find the learning material one week before the course starts.There will be no mid-term exam. However, your attendance in the class, your active group exercises , your homework/presentation and the final test will be the standards to be evaluated for your final score.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

You will recieve 8 different themes during the whole semester, with which you can write down a short text. You can choose two themes to do a presentation during the class, which will be scored. You will recieve 4 homeworks for sentence-building or short text writing during the whole semester and 2 homeworks of them will be scored. Along with your attendance rate, 60% of the total score will base on these evaluations. 40% from the final test.
In order to receive a positive grade, you are not allowed to be absent from the course more than three times. However, if you are sick, you may have an exception with the medical certificate from your doctor. Other special cases please contact the lecturer and get an extra agreement from her.
If you miss the first course without excuse, you will automatically be deregistered from the course. If you are unable to attend the first course, an apology must be sent in written form via email to the lecturer.
