Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Students are asked to give one presentation during the course of the semester either individually or as a member of a team. This presentation is based on the team's own research on the topic and will be written out into a seminar paper later on. The deadline for submission of the seminar paper is November 1, 2009.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This seminar is aimed at understanding China's response to the on-going world economic crisis and at discussing the situation in China in light of the international debate on reasons and consequences of the crisis. The language of this class is English. If all participants understand Chinese, the class will be partly held in Chinese.
Examination topics
The class will combine lectures with students' presentations. At the end of the class we will give a public presentation of our findings for interested students of Chinese Studies at our department.
Classes start on March 5, 2009. Please note: There are no classes on March 12 and March 19, 2009. Students who missed the first class on March5, 2009: Please look at the lists of topics above and choose one topic for your presentation.
