Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Currently, the international debate on migration and development is shifting (again), this time towards a moderate optimistic view: Migrants are increasingly perceived as development agents, and the migration and development nexus is reconsidered. To a certain extent this is induced by changing migration patterns, especially by a global boom in temporary and circular migration. The seminar deals with the implications of changing migration patterns for China: What are the main migration trends in China (internal and external), and what are the repercussions on Chinese economy, society and politics?
