Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course aims to develop Chinese writing skills for the students.
1. The students can write characters independently with at least 400 characters.
2. The students will learn how to organize the sentences into structured paragraphs.
3. The course will help students to deepen their knowledge of vocabularies (oral language/written language), grammar, and idiomatic expressions.
4. The students will be acquired the skills to express themselves in coherent and smooth paragraphs.
Grammars review, vocabularies practice, sentences correction, and reading comprehension practice will be involved in the class.

Assessment and permitted materials

The students should master two tasks in the class:
1. Writing an essay independently with 400 characters.
2. Correction of typical mistakes made in homework.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

100-89.5% = very good / 1,
89.4-79.5% = good / 2,
79.4-69.5% = satisfactory / 3,
69.4-59.5% = sufficient / 4,
<59.4% = not enough, failed
To receive a positive grade, you may not miss more than three classes.

Examination topics

All the examination topics will be related to the teaching materials in the class.
The sentence structures and vocabularies are from the textbook.
The students need to preview the vocabulary every week before the class.
