Presentation (reading and translating Chinese texts) (40%), seminar work (essay) in German, English or Chinese (60%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

the understanding of the Modern Confucianism in the context of pre-modern and contemporary society, the comprehension of specific features of Chinese modernization, the ability of critical interpretation of concrete philosophical contributions of the Modern Confucians, the influence of their work upon ideas and ideologies in contemporary China
