Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar deals with family-related legislation in the People's Republic of China after 1979. Main focus are the marriage laws of 1981 and 2001, the women's rights protection laws and inheritance and adoption legislation.
Assessment and permitted materials
1) mandatory attendance and oral participation 2) short essay 3) presentation of article or/and case translation 4) end term paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
students learn and practice their capacity of formulating academically a topic of their choice. They accumulate and present the things learned in a end-term paper
Examination topics
Vorstellung des eigenen Seminararbeitsthemas einschliesslich kritischer Reflexion. Diskussionsanleitung in der Position eines discussant. Diskussion von Einzelthemen in Form von verpflichtenden Hausuebungen - Essays.
