Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The course features short introductory lectures on the individual topics as outlined above, combined with communal discussion of readings. Students are asked to present a text as well as to guide a part of the discussion. The readings will be provided beforehand and should be completed prior to the course.
For evaluation in Vienna, MA students submit a term paper (20–25 pages) and BA students submit their bachelor’s thesis (30–40 pages) on a course topic of their choice by 31 August 2023.

Framed by a period of online teaching, the course’s core are five days of in-person teaching in Leipzig with lectures, reading groups, student presentations, and discussions addressing issues of performativity, corporeality, music philosophy, intermediality, situated listening, and global aesthetics.The course combines physical attendance in Leipzig from 10–16 April 2023 (10 and 16 April are travel days) with an online preparatory meeting on 10 March and a wrap-up meeting on 28 April.
