Aims, contents and method of the course

AIMS
(1.) Development of basic and special knowledge about the nature and forms of understanding and evaluation in the context of new music
(2.) Use of methods of scientific interviews (expert interviews) in order to document or reflect on understanding and evaluation achievements in the field of new music
(3.) Ideas for academic theses (BA / MA / DISS)

CONTENT
(1) Basic knowledge of the nature and forms of understanding and evaluating newer music
(2) Small-scale research projects
(3) Discussion of the theses
METHOD
Interactive seminar with regular content input and constant opportunity for discussion

Assessment and permitted materials

A distinction is made between four seminar achievements:
a) presentation including handout
b) written seminar paper
c) active participation
d) regular attendance

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The certificate grade is based on a point system that is explained at the beginning of the course.
