Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

OBJECTIVE: Overview of essential developments in composed music from the middle decades of the 20th century to the present day.
CONTENT: Compositional strategies since 1945 with references to selected individual works.
METHOD: Lecture in ten chapters with constant opportunity for questioning and discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final exam with five questions, four of which have to be answered

ASSESSMENT METHOD: Point system explained at the beginning of the semester

Examination topics

The developments in the history of composition and musical examples presented in the lecture are relevant for the examination
