Aims, contents and method of the course
Basic knowledge and techniques of syntactic analysis are introduced and practiced - primary by means of German phrases.
Assessment and permitted materials
Evaluation will be based on regular collaboration during the classes, exercises and a final written examination at the end of the course.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Mastery of sentence analysis and phrase structure analysis by means of German examples.
Examination topics
Interactive lecture and exercises, handouts.
More exercises are possible in a complementary tutorium.

Aims, contents and method of the course
Die Grammatikfähigkeit als kognitive und damit neurologische Fähigkeit des Menschen ist zentrales Thema dieser LV. Nach allgemeinen Überlegungen dazu sollen vorwiegend Grundkenntnisse und Grundtechniken der syntaktischen Analyse - primär anhand des Deutschen - vermittelt und geübt werden. Folgende Bereiche sollen dabei erarbeitet und behandelt werden: Was ist eine Phrase im Satz? Welche Typen von Phrasen lassen sich unterscheiden? Welche Funktionen haben einzelne Phrasen im Satz? Wie sind Phrasen aufgebaut, was ist ihre Struktur? Wie lässt sich eine solche Struktur darstellen? Mit einer Vorschau auf die Struktur des Satzes schließt die LV ab. Eingehend behandelt wird diese dann in der auf diesem PS aufbauenden LV "Einführung in die Grammatiktheorie" im nächsten Semester.
