Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this class the central areas of linguistics will be presented. Emphasis is laid on the introduction of basic concepts, theses and models of phonology and morphology. In practical exercises students will discover important analytical methods of linguistics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Homework, participation in class, written final ELECTRONIC examination IN THE LAST SESSION OF THE SEMESTER.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The final mark consists of 3 parts: homework, participation in discussion, and a written final exam.
BEWARE: The use of a computer with an up-to-date operating system and Unicode is required. Homework assignments AND THE FINAL EXAM are submitted by email.

Examination topics

Analysis of datasets that students should not be familiar with. Basics of phonological and morphological analysis. ALL AVAILABLE material may be used at the final exam.

Reading list

Materials will be distributed (on Moodle) during the semester.
