Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar will deepen your understanding of psycholinguistics, specifically how the brain processes language. You will learn how the brain translates and integrates information about air pressure waves into sounds, sounds into words and words into sentences. You’ll learn about domain-general cognitive processes that are not language-specific but nevertheless support language processing and how that interplay changes in old age.
During the course of the seminar, you can either develop a research question of your own or pick a question given during the seminar. You then need to come up with literature-based hypotheses and plan an experiment to tests those hypotheses. You’ll be asked to write up your research proposal as your BA thesis.

The seminar will be taught in English.
