Aims, contents and method of the course

Dieses Proseminar begleitet die Vorlesung 160107 "Einführung in die Indogermanistik" von Prof. Malzahn und dient der Vertiefung des in der Vorlesung gebotenen Stoffes durch interaktives Lernen und praktische Übungen. Den Studierenden soll durch aktive Auseinandersetzung mit sprachhistorischen Daten und Problemstellungen zu einem vertieften Verständnis der Phänomene des Sprachwandels verholfen werden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mindestanforderung: Ausführung von Hausübungen und Teilnahme an Zwischenprüfungen.

Es herrscht Anwesenheitspflicht, d.h. jede/r darf nur zweimal fehlen, und das nur mit einer stichhaltigen Entschuldigung. Darüber hinausgehende nachvollziehbare Abwesenheit kann unter Umständen durch Kompensationsleistungen wettgemacht werden.

Beurteilungsmaßstab:
1 (sehr gut) 100-90 Punkte;
2 (gut) 89-81 Punkte;
3 (befriedigend) 80-71 Punkte;
4 (genügend) 70-60 Punkte;
5 (nicht genügend) 59-0 Punkte.

Aims, contents and method of the course

This proseminar complements the lecture 160107 "Introduction to Indo-European Studies" by Prof. Malzahn and consolidates its content through interactive learning and practical exercises. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the phenomena and problems of language change through active work with historical language data.

Homework, three in-class exams.

Attendance is mandatory, i.e. students may be absent not more than twice and only if a valid excuse is provided. Comprehensible absences beyond this may be compensated through extra work under certain conditions and if communicated in advance.

Assessment criteria:

1 ("sehr gut") 100-90 points;
2 ("gut") 89-81 points;
3 ("befriedigend") 80-71 points;
