This course aims at providing students with basic skills in various methods of Applied Linguistics, such as participant observation, development of questionnaires, interview, group discussions, experiments (e.g., matched guise test) and various methods of text and discourse analysis.
In this course, the methods are introduced and discussed. The participants are expected to design a research concept for an empirical Bachelor's thesis, which will be elaborated in the next semester within the BA-Seminar in Applied Linguistics 1.
