Aims, contents and method of the course

Im Wissenschaftlichen Praktikum zum BA-Seminar zur Angewandten Sprachwissenschaft 1 werden die im Sommersemester erarbeiteten Konzepten zu einer empirischen Arbeit der Angewandten Linguistik ausgeführt. Die Veranstaltung dient der Betreuung und Begleitung bei der Erstellung einer Bachelor-Seminararbeit.

Assessment and permitted materials

Anwesenheit; zwei Referate; zwei kürzere schriftliche Texte in Vorbereitung der Bachelorarbeit im BA-Seminar I

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Verfassen zweier kürzer schriftlicher Texte in Vorbereitung der Bachelorarbeit. Vorbereitung von Präsentationsfolien zum Abschlussreferat im BA-Seminar. Die Texte und Folien müssen fristgerecht auf Moodle hochgeladen werden. Die Texte werden hierbei via Turnitin auf Textähnlichkeiten überprüft ("Plagiatsprüfung").

Examination topics

Präsentation und Dokumentation des jeweiligen Stands der Arbeiten durch Studierende in schriftlicher und mündlicher Form, gemeinsame Diskussion der Arbeiten.

Aims, contents and method of the course

In the Scientific Practical Training in Applied Linguistics, the concepts developed in the summer term are employed to an empirical study in Applied Linguistics. Supervision and support for the preparation of a Bachelor thesis is provided.

PLEASE NOTE: The course will take place face-to-face if circumstances allow. For students who cannot participate face-to-face, the possibility is provided to participate (live) via the tool Collaborate (via Moodle). Should COVID-19 prevention require it, the course will go online completely.

Update 19.11.2021: Due to the current prevention measures of the government the course will be held in distance learning mode (online) from now on (at least until the Christmas break). The online room is located on Moodle.

Regular attendance, two short texts in preparation of the BA thesis in BA Seminar I

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Authoring of two short texts in preparation of the BA thesis in the accompanying BA Seminar 1. Preparation of slides for the final oral presentation in the BA Seminar. All texts and slides need to be uploaded to Moodle within the stipulated period. The texts are thereby checked for text similarities ("plagiarism check") by means of Turnitin.

Examination topics

Presentation and documentation of the respective status of the own work by students in written and oral form, joint discussion of participants' work.
