Case and Agreement
Continuous assessment of course work
Labels
This proseminar will deal with case and agreement phenomena in natural language. In particular, it will focus on the so-called "person-case constraint" (PCC), also known as the *me-lui constraint (Perlmutter 1971), a non-semantic restriction on possible combinations of phonologically weak elements that applies in a large range of unrelated languages (Bonet 1991, 1994 et seq.).
