Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

We will read up to 3 Rigvedic hymns and discuss topics of diachronic grammar.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance and discussion (30%), preparation of the texts to be discussed in class (20%); at the end of term one has to hand in a translation and linguistic discussion of a hymn not read in class (50%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Getting familiar with the problems of Rigvedic philology, so that students will be able to work with Rigvedic text material themselves.

Examination topics

The particular texts to be read in class will be announced during term via Moodle.
