Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

We will read the Rigvedic hymns I 26, II 20 and IV 24 and discuss topics of diachronic grammar and cultural aspects of Vedic society.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance and discussion (20%), preparation of the 3 texts to be discussed in class (20%/20%/20%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge of Sanskrit or historical Vedic grammar.

Examination topics

The particular texts to be read in class will be announced during term via Moodle.
