Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Grammar has existed for as long as there has been language. Languages have existed since humans have existed. Humans have existed for at least 300,000 years. (Fossil evidence). The historical-linguistic evidence covers no more than 5000 years. We are therefore dependent on grammar comparison in order to better understand the cognitive-evolutionary development of the different types of grammars by comparing the different existing systems. The first half of the course therefore deals with typological data and facts that we need for the second part of the course. This presents the evolutionary theoretical background and the classification of the data and the derivation of the facts.Prerequisites for the course: interest in the topic, knowledge of syntax to the minimum extent of an introduction to syntax, plus an overview of German and English syntax. Assessment and permitted materials
Die LV ist prüfungsimmanent. Es gibt 8 Arbeitsthemen (je 2 pro Block). Davon wählen Sie 6 und arbeiten sie selbständig aus. Umfang pro Thema ca. 300 Wörter (excl. Beispiele und Literaturangaben), insgesamt 1800-1900 Wörter Gesamtumfang für die 6 gewählten Themen zusammen. Das Ausarbeiten erfordert eigenständige Recherche in zumutbarem Umfang, da dies auch Teil der in der LV zu erwerbenden Kompetenzen ist.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Sie haben zumindest bestanden, wenn Sie die Ausarbeitungen in der angegebenen Frist abliefern und mindestens 4 (von den geforderten 6) als hinreichend bewertet werden.
Examination topics
Die LV ist prüfungsimmanent. Es wird pro Einheit 2 Arbeitsthemen geben. Die auszuarbeitenden Themen stehen im unmittelbaren Zusammenhang mit den Vortragsinhalten in der LV.
Reading list
Es werden pro LV-Einheit Handouts und/oder ppt-Folien elektronisch zur Verfügung gestellt. Sie enthalten auch die Literaturangaben. Die Literatur wird mehrheitlich elektronisch verfügbar sein.
