Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this course, we go on a two-day field trip to the Burgenland-Croatian region. This is a practical extension to the courses on language policy and minority studies. On site, we will visit a bilingual school, discuss with members of the bilingual community and conduct small researches in the field.As the course will be taught in German, a basic level of knowledge of German is indispensable.
Assessment and permitted materials
Participation on the field trip, written documentation of the researches.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The purpose of this field trip is to empirically validate theoretical knowledge that has been acquired in seminars and lectures as well as to apply ethographic and other methods of Applied Linguistics.
Examination topics
The participants propose a research question and discuss it, as well as the used method, on the basis of the empirical findings in written form.
