Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course introduces students to foundational questions in morphology and some of the main approaches to these questions, primarily Lexicalism and Distributed Morphology, and time permitting, also Optimality Theory, Nanosyntax, and more recent developments, such as Collins and Kayne (2021). The course will take place online in the given times, further details will be posted on Moodle.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam, open questions. Please note that unless you are notified otherwise, the exam will take place in person as specified. Exam sheets will be provided.
Erlaubte Hilfsmittel: nur Stift, sowie -- falls Deutsch nicht Ihre Muttersprache ist -- zweisprachige Wörterbücher. (Die Wörterbücher müssen vor Prüfungsbeginn der Prüfungsaufsicht vorgelegt werden.) Alle elektronischen Geräte sind vor der Prüfung komplett auszuschalten und während der gesamten Prüfungsdauer zu verstauen.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students have a command of the topics discussed in the course. Attendance, while not obligatory, is explicitly recommended.
Grading scale:
0-50% = negativ
51-64% = genügend
65-77% = befriedigend
78-89% = gut
90% und mehr = sehr gut
