Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The class treats basic questions of PIE nominal morphology; the main focus will be the on the inflection and derivation of roots nouns, athematic and thematic nouns (external and internal derivation, decasuatives) as well as basic types of PIE compounds and basics on the Caland system.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam (text, no multiple-choice questions).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Aim of the class is to acquire a deeper understanding of the basic problems of PIE nominal morphology.

Examination topics

Lecture with handouts, reference to further literature.
