Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Texts in Irish will be read and discussed. Teaching will be done mainly through German and Irish (also in English if necessary). More complicated structures will be taught and vocabulary built up. All texts will also be discussed in simple Irish. Also other themes can be discussed according to the wishes of the students. Minimum requirement is at least 2 semesters of Irish (can also be in the past) or similar (e.g. courses at other institutes or a period of time spent in a Gaeltacht please contact me!). It is important that the basic structures are already well-known to the students.
Assessment and permitted materials
Continuous assessment through set tasks and a short written examination are required.A short written and oral examination are required a text will be read and discussed
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The goal is to build on existing knowledge, to introduce some of the more challenging structures of the Irish language and above all to nurture spoken language (and to develop vocabular in that process).
Examination topics
Individual teaching, small group works the emphasis will be on independent working and oral production of speech by the students
