Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
All structural areas of Yukuben, a Jukunoid language of Nigeria, West Africa, will be explicated (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics/pragmatics, lexicon), especially with regard to their typological properties and (where relevant) in contrast with the better-known European languages.
Assessment and permitted materials
3 partial exams during the semester or an overall examination at the end of term.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participants will become acquainted with the major typological characteristics of Yukuben and experience how their expectations (based on their knowledge of Indo-European languages) are confirmed or not.
