Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

An overview of the literary genre, its history, and historical links between Breton and other European literatures. Students will need either previous knowledge of Modern or Middle Breton or be asked to take the course "Introduction to Middle Breton" which is offered this semester.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course has two aims:
1) to get students acquainted with Middle Breton drama within its cultural and historical context and
2) to provide them with an opportunity to practice their Middle Breton by working with the traditional corpus of texts.

Examination topics

General introduction; texts will be read, translated, and discussed in the group; some parts of the texts will be worked on independently by students.
