Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The starting point for doing conversational analysis is the production of transcriptions. This course will introduce the principles of linguistic transcription within the both systems HIAT and GAT. Using authentic language material will offer the possibility to discuss issues of transcription, technical resources, methods for data-collection, data privacy and storage of data.
Assessment and permitted materials
Aktive Mitarbeit, regelmäßige Teilnahme, Verfassen einer schriftlichen Arbeit.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquisition of HIAT and GAT, handling of relevant software for transcription and editing of data.
Examination topics
Exercises with authentic language material.
