Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the grammar of movies: perceptual psychology, imagery, dramaturgy, editing & montage.
Overview of practise in films, television an online media.
Overview of recent media politics in Austria focussing on public broadcasting.

Assessment and permitted materials

Completing with exam or practical work.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Learning the fundamental knowledge of film making for cinema and television in: screen writing, directing, camera, editing, production and performance.

Examination topics

Lecture, independent homework, discussion with guest speakers from film and television business, practical excercises.
