Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to narratology, the theory of successful, exciting and captivating storytelling.
The focus is on storytelling in film and other audiovisual media.

Assessment and permitted materials

Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence and active participation in all sessions. Exceptions only in case of a well-founded written notification submitted in time.

Examination topics

Nachweis der Kenntnis der grundlegenden Ideen, Analysen und Konzepte, die von Robert McKee in seinem Buch "Story: Substance, Structure, Style, and the Principles of Screenwriting" präsentiert und diskutiert werden.
Grundlegende Konzepte des Storytellings und der Heldenreise.
