Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Introduction to basic concepts and themes of transmedia storytelling. This course is dealing with basic narratological questions of transformation. 1)TELLABILITY: Can a STORY exist "outside" of a PLOT? 2) AFFINITY: Does any story lend itself equally well to any medium, or does any medium lend itself equally well to any kind of story STORY? 3) TRANSPOSABILITY: Can a STORY be "transported" from one medium to another without loss? 4) MEDIA BLINDNESS: Do we become "blind" to the specific possibilities of a medium when, for example, we transfer the evaluation criteria for a novel to its film adaptation?
