Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
'Sound and Senses' adresses the relatedness of the sensual perception and production of the urban space. We will read texts in the field of historical and urban sound studies. Furthermore actual research projects in the field of sound media studies wil be presented and the students will have the opportunity to realize their own research and documentaton of the production of urban spaces in concrete places of listening within te town of Vienna.
Assessment and permitted materials
-) Regelmäßige und fristgerechte Semesterlektüre, kurze Projekt-Reviews, Diskussionsbereitschaft, eigenständige Recherche zu Hör-Orten in Wien (20%)
-) Mündlicher Text-Impuls mit Handout und/oder Lektürekarten (20%)
-) Dokumentation und diskursive Aufbereitung von zwei HörOrten in Wien (z. Bsp. Erstellung eines Podcast, Videos, Hörspielmanuskripts) (30%)
-) Wissenschaftlicher Essay (30%)
