170500 UE Christian Petzold: Cinema of Ghosts (2016S)

Continuous assessment of course work

Shortcut version:

Christian Petzold's films appear as a construction in which visible and invisible elements play a strong part and intermingle.

The invisible and the ghosts (of society, history, psychology) sometimes even possess or pull themseves over the surface of his stories.

We will deal with these ghosts.

Christian Petzold will be present during april 8 + april 11. These two days are conceived as two full-day-workshops with him.

Compulsary part of the course is the viewing of at least six films of the Christian Petzold Retrospective (and Carte Blanche) at the Austrian Filmmuseum. Cooperationtickets for six screenings can be bought: 18 EUR.
