Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Festivals are limited in time and therefore have the opportunity to focus on a topic, a discourse, an art or a main idea. That's what makes them so special. In structural terms as well as in terms of organizational and financing structures, questions of location and especially in matters of content programming and objectives, they differ essentially from institutions that have to be thought over a long period of time. In this course, students gain knowledge of the complexity of festival realization.
This course is intended to give students the opportunity to gain insights into the program design and organizational structures of theater, dance and performance festivals in a broad sense.
The aim of this course is to design a festival newspaper for this year's "Sibiu International Theater Festival". It starts with research work and the objective of this newspaper. The various formats such as preliminary report, interview, criticism or analysis should also be discussed. The use of new media in the field of theater should also be discussed (blogs, Twitter, etc.). What is important in this course is the willingness to work in a team.
Various events within the festival are attended together and discussions are organized with festival organizers.
