Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Preparation and active participation in class discussions. Production of a short, individual, written research paper. There is a possibility of additional interviews outside of class time to discuss and evaluate student work.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Viennese Theatre in the first half of the 19th century, including social and political history, and history of theatre performances. Develop abilities of independent study and research.
Examination topics
A mixture of input by the seminar leader and group discussions of the written papers produced by the student participants.
Reading list
Reading suggestions and references will be provided throughout the course, and be developed together with students. Publications in German and English will be used.
