Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This class addresses power and abuse of power in the so-called cultural industry (wiht a focus on the music and theater industry). It investigates structural and narrative patterns of organization that further and uphold systematic disadvantages. It looks at the distribution of agency in such structures and narratives and links the insights gained to broader questions of cultural history.

In this course you will...
..deepen your knowledge in the field of intersectional gender studies in the research area on the abuse of power in the cultural sector.
...engage in research-led discussion with guests from home and abroad.
...participate in a workshop of scholars.
...expand your ability to analyze case studies in a differentiated and reflective manner for your own research.
