Aims, contents and method of the course

Walter Benjamin hat seine Philosophie oft in allegorischen Sprachbildern - "Denkbildern" - formuliert. Darüber hinaus hat er die Theorie des "dialektischen Bildes" entwickelt. Die von Benjamin inspirierte Bildtheorie Georges Didi-Hubermans ist weitgehend eine Theorie der Montage. Im Seminar werden einschlägige Texte beider Autoren erarbeitet, auf ihr politisches Potential hin befragt und auf diverse Bildpraxen bezogen.

In jeder Sitzung wird ein Text von einer Expertengruppe vorgestellt und im Verhältnis zu einem selbst recherchierten Bildbeispiel diskutiert. Der entsprechende Text muss von allen TeilnehmerInnen in Gestalt einer Lesekarte vorbereitet werden.
