Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
There are 3 separate exam sections to pass:
1) Seminar paper (12-15 Seiten) or creative paper (33,3%)
2) oral presentation/chairing of discussion (20-30 min.), participation in class tasks (33,3%)
3) attendance and participation in debate and analysis, participation in peer feedback (33,3%)In agreement with the class, these exam sections are subject to change (e.g. if the group turns out to be very small/very big, or depending on the knowledge/experience level of the group).If you have a condition that affects these exams (dyslexia, phobias), please contact the teacher to discuss the possibility of an alternative exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
All three exam sections need to be passed to obtain a positive mark (=a minimum of a 4) and pass the class.
The willingness to read (both English and German texts) and to engage in debate is required.
Attendance is mandatary. You are, however, adults. Just don’t miss class more than three times and give notice (via email) when you will be missing a class.

Ability to conduct differentiated and independent analysis on models of historization, and to connect learned content to larger current and historical theoretizations in regards to Social and Cultural Sciences at large. Analyses of narratives of history as mythical and ficitonal constructs, application of history models to contexts of cultural history and politics. Connecting current and older models of history design, addressing issues of methodology.
Reading, debate, analysis of (historical and current) case studies.
