Aims, contents and method of the course

In "Was ist Philosophie?", ihrem letzten gemeinsam geschriebenen Buch, bestimmen Deleuze und Guattari die Philosophie als "die Kunst der Bildung, Erfindung, Herstellung von Begriffen" und unterscheiden sie von der künstlerischen und wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit. Im Seminar sollen neben der Frage der Begriffsbildung die wichtigsten Punkte dieses komplexen und vielschichtigen Werkes, das alles andere als eine blosse Einführung in die Philosophie ist, herausgearbeitet werden: Immanenzebene, Ereignis, Geophilosophie, Virtualität und Aktualiserung, transzendentaler Empirismus etc. und auf einige der provokanten Ausflüge von Deleuze und Guattari in die Philosophiegeschichte näher eingegangen werden.

Assessment and permitted materials

Anwesenheit, Mitarbeit, Protokolle, Referate, regelmässige Beantwortung von Fragen zum Text.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Vermittlung einer gründlichen Kenntnis der Immanenzphilosophie von Deleuze und Guattari.

Examination topics

Gemeinsame Textlektüre und -diskussion, evtl. Präsentationen der TeilnehmerInnen.
