Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture course introduces students to central debates in feminist philosophy. We will read and discuss both historical and contemporary texts. A central theme will be objectification.

The format will be a mixture of lecture, discussion, and in-class activities. Students are expected to prepare for sessions by reading carefully.

Assessment and permitted materials

There will be in person exam, which will take place on 29.01.2024 15:00 - 16:30.
The exam consists of two parts:
1) 20 multiple choice questions
2) Two open questions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students need to pass both parts of the exam, that means
- they need to answer 12 of the 20 multiple choice questions correctly
- they need to score at least 1 point for each of the open questions

Points will be allocated thusly:
- Multiple choice questions: 1 point for each correctly answered question (max. 20 points)
- For each answer to an open question: 0-4 points, corresponding to grades (0 = nicht genügend, 4 = sehr gut). Up to 8 points in total.
Answers to open questions will be marked according to the following criteria:
Formal criteria: correct use of language (including punctuation!), structure and comprehensibility, correct and competent use of technical terms.
Substantive criteria: answer's relevance to the question, ability to present connections within the materials of the lecture and make new connections, correct summary of materials discussed in the lecture and the required readings

Grading key (final grade):
25-28 Punkte -> grade: 1
21-24 Punkte -> grade: 2
18-20 Punkte -> grade: 3
14-17 Punkte -> grade: 4
0-13 Punkte -> grade: 5
