Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

As the subtitle of the lecture announces, this course will primarily deal with texts and theories that originated outside of an academic setting. In terms of content, the focus is on questions of responsibility and the theoretical and political relevance of these texts. The authors discussed range from selected works by Angela Y. Davis to Leslie Feinberg and other political activists to Bini Adamczak, Sara Ahmed and Simone de Beauvoir - always taking into account the question of how we want to live together/how a successful life together should/could look like.

Assessment and permitted materials

There is a written take home exam at the end of the VO-L. This includes knowledge questions on the VO units and a catalog of essay questions, one of which must be answered in form of a text.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The texts for the lectures must be read. Students should actively participate in the discussion rounds in the lecture and the written exam must be passed with a grade of at least sufficient (4).
The exact criteria and standards can be found on Moodle.

Examination topics

The examination material is the VO content and the texts to be read.
