Aims, contents and method of the course
The Philosophy of Science Colloquium has two parts: lectures delivered by guest speakers and seminar meetings. This semester the general topic is inferentialism. We will read and discuss papers by Carnap, Sellars, Dummett, and Brandom, among others.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students who register for the colloquium are required to attend the lectures delivered by guest speakers, and to participate in discussion after the lectures and during the seminar meetings. In addition, students will do a seminar presentation and write a term paper of about 5000 words on a topic chosen in consultation with the instructor.
