Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Both, Liberalism and Anarchism, feature the term Freedom. In the period of Bakunin and John Stuart Mill the governmental, capitalism-oriented Liberalism were absolutely incompatible. Maybe Stirner and Krapotkin served as a kind of bridge. Especially in the USA as a consequence of the economic theories of Mises and Hayek things have changed since the Twenties of the past century. Prominent names in this field are Ayn Rand, Murray Rothbard and Robert Nozick. There is not only an institutionalized Libertarianism and the Objectivism of Ayn Rand, but also an Anarcho-Capitalism based on the distinction of social and individual anarchism. In the course we will try to understand these new distinctions, using mostly Net-sources.
